Your role as Compliance Lead, Biorefining 
Are you eager to join the front row of experts working together with our partners towards a more sustainable value chain? As a Compliance Lead in Biorefining you will be working in our Sustainability and Corporate Affairs Group Function, where we focus on creating new sustainable and profitable business opportunities for St1. We turn market knowledge and understanding into strategic projects and partnerships enabling transition of our value chain towards a more sustainable one. We are supporting and co-operating with the whole St1 at group-level.

As a part of our Group Sustainability Compliance team, your position will focus on managing and ensuring that our production processes of biofuels are compliant with relevant sustainability requirements both on site, and in other renewables production scenarios of St1 on group-level. You will have ownership over the biofuel compliance processes and management at St1 Refinery AB. You will work in close collaboration with our partners, trading team, trading company NEOT, and the technical, supply and operations teams at the refinery.Your workplace is located in Gothenburg, Sweden. You will report to the Head of Sustainability Compliance, based at  St1 Nordic Oy in Helsinki.  

Your role includes

  • Ownership and development of the sustainability- and biofuels compliance processes at St1 Refinery
  • Ownership and development of the production GHG calculation model in compliance with relevant sustainability standards and methodologies on site
  • Contribute to development projects and operative management of production GHG modeling, ensure and coordinate alignment across different parts of value chain on a group level
  • Manage and develop the sustainability mass-balance, and related support processes of the production unit on site as well as support operative maintaining of St1’s sustainability mass-balances in the entire value chain
  • Manage and develop production unit -level specific sustainability schemes and certifications
  • Development of the internal supply chain sustainability compliance process with the supply chain, production, sustainability and commercial teams
  • Training internal and external key stakeholders on sustainability compliance requirements of biofuels with production specific expertise 

 
To succeed in this role, you have 

  • Minimum 5+ years of relevant work experience from the energy and renewables industry (your educational background can be for example from Technical, Engineeering or Sustainability)
  • Good understanding of EU Renewable Energy regulation and its implications for the Nordic market
  • Knowledge and experience of national sustainability schemes and/or EU voluntary certification schemes
  • Experience with GHG calculations modeling such as LCA, and particularly GHG modeling based on the EU RED methodology
  • Experience and overall technical understanding of the HEFA conversion process, and HVO production seen as an asset
