We are currently looking for a Senior Network Specialist to our location in Västerås, Sweden

The Senior Network Specialist is responsible for the architecture and high-level design of the Ethernet based onboard network ensuring that the network fulfils overall vehicle systems and customer expectations relating to function, security, quality, and cost. The job also involves leading the network “program” that include further development and maintenance of the Alstom network solution and that involve a team of approximately 10 persons and in addition also includes close cooperation with external network product supplier companies. The senior network specialist may also engage in research (EU) and standardization (CENELEC, IEC, IEEE).

Responsibilities does not include people management (administration) but is a technical expert position. The job requires that the person has a strong understanding and skills in systems engineering, network architecture, computer sciences, cyber security and requirements management.

Responsibilities:
  • You will define technical concept and solutions
  • Formulate requirements
  • Perform risk, threat  and hazard analysis in relation to safety and security
  • Coordinate internal product teams and external suppliers
  • Collaborate with vehicle teams to understand their needs
  • Evaluate issues, defects and change requests
Qualifications:
  • Master’s degree in engineering, preferably in computer sciences
  • Experience in product development
  • Knowledge of cyber security, functional safety, information technology and enterprise systems
  • Knowledge of network communication, algorithms and data science and services
  • Skilled in using Microsoft office
  • 10 years of professional experience
  • Professional experience in railway or automotive/automation sectors is an advantage
  • Experience in international cooperation is an advantage
  • Desired competencies: people and communication skills , drive for results, technical writing
  • Fluent business English is mandatory for this role.
